THE SEMINARY

The Seminary of the Congregation for Sacred Practices provides interdisciplinary training at the intersection of spirituality and healing, with instruction spanning six core domains:

  • offering sacrament and ceremony;
  • consulting skills for guiding individuals and groups through transformative processes;
  • psychological knowledge rooted in trauma-informed and transpersonal frameworks;
  • energy and bodywork modalities that integrate somatic and contemplative practices;
  • evidence-based research in entheogenic healing modalities and their ethical, clinical, and theological implications;
  • and indigenous, religious and spiritual worldviews that illuminate culturally grounded approaches to wellbeing.

Our curricula blend academic rigor with practical application, preparing participants to navigate complex healing paradigms within a spiritual framework.

Courses are designed for clergy, spiritual directors, counselors, life coaches, and anyone interested in exploring the profound connection between spirituality and healing. Courses run on a traditional academic calendar schedule with the Fall Semester running August through December and the Spring Semester running February through June. There are two intercession terms, one in January and one in July, for shorter classes. Please peruse the academic calendar page to explore our current offerings.

The Training of Ministers is a distinct multi-year seminary program that provides ethical, clinical, cultural, spiritual, and practical training to those interested in supporting members experiencing expanded states of consciousness in a sacramental container. We also offer an accelerated Bridge Program for experienced entheogenic guides who are interested in holding sacramental ceremonies above ground in a spiritual context. Graduates of both the Training of Ministers and Bridge Program are eligible to apply for licensure as ministers in the Congregation.

Accreditation and Advanced Degrees

We are pleased to announce that the CSP Seminary is accredited by the Global Accreditation Council. The CSP Minister training curriculum has been approved as the classroom component for graduate degrees. Advanced degrees in any field require both classroom work and original research and writing–for a Master’s Degree this is a thesis, for a PhD, this is a dissertation. Our research and writing partner, Ubiquity University, supervises the research and writing phase of a graduate degree. Upon completion of both the coursework and the research and writing, CSP Seminary and Ubiquity University issue a joint Masters in Divinity, Master of Arts in Entheogenic Studies, or PhD. Completing the Master’s or PhD is not a requirement for licensure as a minister in the CSP Community.

We are in the process of establishing an application and review process to award advanced degrees. To be notified when applications open, please email training@sacredpractices.org.
