Chris VanArsdale serves on the Board of Trustees of the Congregation for Sacred Practices (CSP). He continues to watch with amazement as Paul, Channing, and the entire team of talented staff and Ministers expand CSP’s reach and impact across the country.
Chris’s spiritual journey has been shaped by periodic deep dives into many of the world’s wisdom traditions and contemplative practices. He is a long-time member of Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington, DC. He has been a student of Richard Rohr for many years and has studied directly with Father Richard through courses offered by his Center for Action and Contemplation.
Professionally, Chris practiced law in the Washington, DC offices of Arent Fox, Greenberg Traurig, and Akin Gump, specializing in environmental law and brownfields redevelopment. He now serves as Managing Partner of Heleos, a development firm committed to creating affordable, sustainable, and net-zero energy multifamily housing.
He holds degrees in anthropology, resource economics, and law from Harvard University, Duke University, and Cornell Law School, respectively.
Chris lives in Washington, DC with his wife, Kat, just a few blocks from CSP’s headquarters.
